J. Sudar, Miller lead Presidents at Myrtle Beach Shootout

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. -- The Washington & Jefferson golf teams competed in the Myrtle Beach Shootout hosted by McDaniel at the Barefoot Golf Club as part of their Spring Break trip.

The women finished second of four teams, 11 strokes behind team champion Hope. The men were third of seven squads at 320, nine strokes behind first-place Skidmore.

In her first action as a President, Jocelyn Sudar earned medalist honors among the 25 women's golfers with an 11-over par 82, three strokes ahead of Morgan Leep from Hope. Marissa Sudar was sixth behind four Hope golfers at +19 90 and Michelle Klein also carded a top-10 finish, tying for eighth at +21 92.

Owen Miller tied for second on the men's side with a plus-five 76, two strokes behind the medalist, McDaniel's Mason Woolford. Evan Lestini tied for eighth with a 79 (plus-eight) and Bryce Egger was the third finisher for the men, tying for 11th with a nine-over 80.

Both squads will be back in action at the McDaniel Invitational in Abbottstown, Pa., on Sat.-Sun., March 28-29.
