How it Happened:Â In the first meet of the season the Washington & Jefferson men's and women's swim teams both finished with victories in a nonconference tri-meet against Alderson Broaddus and Frostburg State, giving them both a 2-0 start to the season.

Top Finishers:Â The women were led by
Alexis Glenn (Sewickley, Pa./Quaker Valley) who placed first in the 200-meter backstroke (2:34.89) and the 200-meter individual medley (2:36.11) along with a second place finish in the 200-meter freestyle (2:16.82).
Owen Hanna (Reading, Pa./Governor Mifflin) also won two individual events to lead the men, finishing first in the 200- (2:08.23) and the 100-meter freestyle (56.70).

The Rest:
Laura Travers (Sinking Spring, Pa./Wilson) was victorious in the 400- (5:01.08) and 800-meter freestyle (10:10.23) while
Jillian McElhaney (Butler, Pa./Butler Area) won the 100-meter backstroke (1:11.72) and was on the winning 400-meter freestyle relay team along with
Madison Babicka (Demotte, Ind./Kankakee Valley),
Rachel Nye (Shippensburg, Pa./Shippensburg) and
Chloe Magyari (Columbus, Ohio/Upper Arlington) (4:21.04). For the men,
Nicholas Willison (Rockford, Mich./Rockford) placed first in the 200-meter backstroke (2:17.62) and was part of the first-place 200-meter medley relay team along with
Zach Lauer (Hummelstown, Pa./Lower Dauphin),
Matt Noel (Sewickley, Pa./Quaker Valley) and
Jeremy Glasner (Boyertown, Pa./Boyertown Area) (1:54.07). Lauer also finished first in the 100-meter backstroke (1:01.26) and was part of the winning 400-meter freestyle relay team with
Ian Geister (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley), Noel and Hanna (3:53.43).
Tyler Willison (Rockford, Mich./Rockford) rounded out the winning Presidents on the day with a first-place finish in the 400-meter freestyle (4:40.92).
