WASHINGTON, Pa. – The Washington & Jefferson men's and women's swimming & diving teams split a nonconference dual meet at home on Saturday, Nov. 18, as the women were victorious, 90-65, while the men lost, 123-88.

For the women,
Alexandria Daum (Venetia, Pa./Peters Township) and
Victoria Metz (Pittsburgh, Pa./Plum) each won one individual event, Daum in the 1650 freestyle (20:48.33) and Metz in the 200 individual medley (2:33.15). Daum also helped the 200 freestyle relay to a win on the day as she,
Jillian McElhaney (Butler, Pa./Butler Area),
Tara O'Toole (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Hills) and
Chloe Magyari (Columbus, Ohio/Upper Arlington) combined to complete the event in 1:53.11.

McElhaney was victorious in the 100 backstroke (1:08.28) and O'Toole finished second in the 1650 free (21:08.63).
Kaitlyn Pawcio (Johnstown, Pa./Westmont Hilltop) edged out
Rebecca Kirby (Aliquippa, Pa./Homeschooled) in both diving events as the only two competitors on both boards. Pawcio finished with a score of 243.75 at one meter and 222.50 at three meters.

Paige Adams (Mohnton, Pa./Governor Mifflin),
Hayley Georgetti (Washington, Pa./Linsly),
Kaitlyn Ewing (Huntingdon, Pa./Huntingdon) and
Alexis Glenn (Sewickley, Pa./Quaker Valley) rounded out the top women's team finishers, combining for a win in the 200 medley relay in 2:04.65.

Jeremy Glasner (Boyertown, Pa./Boyertown Area) posted strong performances for the men's team as he won the 1650 (18:10.58) and 500 freestyles (5:12.78) in addition to a runner-up finish in the 100 breaststroke (1:06.91).

Theo Skoric (Vanderbilt, Pa./Laurel Highlands) swam the 50 freestyle in 24.41 seconds, good for third place, and was the only participant in the one- and three-meter diving events, tallying scores of 213.75 and 211.70, respectively.
Owen Hanna (Reading, Pa./Governor Mifflin) and
Zach Lauer (Hummelstown, Pa./Lower Dauphin) both totaled a pair of second-place finishes as Hanna swam the 50 (22.80) and 100 freestyles (50.77) and Lauer competed in the 100 backstroke (56.33) and the 200 individual medley (2:06.35).

Ian Geister (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley) rounded out the top W&J men's finishers with a second-place showing in the 100 butterfly (56.23) and a third-place effort in the 200 freestyle (1:56.03).

The Presidents return to the water on Saturday, Dec. 2, for a Presidents' Athletic Conference dual meet at Saint Vincent scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m.
