WASHINGTON, PA – The Washington & Jefferson wrestling team competed in three matches Saturday afternoon in Greene County at the Waynesburg University Duals.

W&J opened the day with a 34-12 loss to Division II Shippensburg. The Presidents suffered a 30-17 loss to Messiah University before dropping a 42-6 decision to Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT).

Hunter Swedish (Cranberry Township, Pa./Seneca Valley) led the Presidents with a 3-0 day at 133 pounds. Swedish improves to 10-0 on the season. He recorded an 8-2 win over Shippensburg's Kyle McCollum. Swedish then followed with a 17-4 win over Messiah's Bryce Arnold. The sophomore capped his perfect day with a 6-4 decision over Isaiah Shafer of RIT.

Tyler Ratledge (Houston, Del./Lake Forest) joined Swedish as wrestlers to go 3-0. Ce opened his day with a win via forfeit over Shippensburg. Ratledge then tallied a 10-0 victory over Messiah's Caiden Heller. He wrapped up the day with a 10-2 win over Seth Russo of RIT. Ratledge is now 8-1 on the season.

Other W&J wins on the day came from Brayden Roscosky (Vandergrift, Pa./Kiski Area), who won 6-5 in overtime against Shippensburg. Bryce Rodriguez-Uram (Carnegie, Pa./Carlynton) won by a 7-6 score over Asa Brunk of Messiah. Will McCracken (Virginia Beach, Va./Princess Anne) won by fall (1:44) over Christian Connor of Messiah.

W&J returns to action at the Messiah Invitational on Dec. 2-3.
