MECHANICSBURG, Pa. -- A limited number of Washington & Jefferson College wrestlers competed Friday at the Petrofes Invitational which was hosted by Messiah University.
Nico Williams (Cadiz, Ohio / Harrison Central) paced the Presidents efforts at the event. Williams picked up an opening-round win by fall in 2:09 over Nick Blitz of Springfield College. Williams went on to finish the day with a 1-2 record.
Enoch Long (Clover, S.C. / Clover)
Matthew Gariano (Del Haven, N.J. / Middle Township) and
Joshua Searle (Red Creek, N.Y. / Red Creek Central) also picked up a win apiece on Friday. Long won by a 13-10 decision over Preston Holt (Southern Virginia) to secure his first collegiate victory.
Following a break for finals and the holiday break, the Presidents will return to competition in the New Year. W&J heads to the Waynesburg University Invitational on Saturday, Jan. 7.
