BEREA, Ohio – Several strong performances highlighted the day for the Washington & Jefferson Indoor Track & Field Team Friday at the Baldwin Wallace Mid-February Meet.
Women's Recap
Bre Trusler (Daisytown, Pa./California) led the women's squad by taking the title in the 400 Meters. Trusler posted a season-best time of 1:03.81. That time improved upon her already top time among PAC competitors.
Faith Remich (New Kensington, Pa./Burrell) finished fifth (1:04.79) while
Jadyn Hartner (Washington, Pa./Fort Cherry) earned 10th (1:05.51).
Cassie Carr (Girard, Pa./Girard) secured a third place finish in the Mile Run. Carr logged a season-best time of 5:24.71 in the event. Remich finished eighth with a season-best time of 5:29.13 in the Mile Run.
Hartner, Remich, Carr and Trusler combined to earn a first-place finish and season-best time in the 4x400 Relay (4:23.77).
Savannah Sevacko (Crafton, Pa./Carlynton) placed first in the Triple Jump with a season-best and lifetime personal-record mark of 10.95 meters. She posted a fourth-place performance in the Long Jump. Sevacko recorded a leap of 4.82 meters in the Long Jump (15-09.75).
Anna Stroup (Port Royal, Pa./Juniata) reached the finals in the 55-meter hurdles. Stroup logged a qualifying time of 9.63 in the preliminary round. She then recorded a time of 9.28 to place fourth in the finals. The time of 9.28 in the 55-meter hurdles converts to a 9.98 in the 60-meter hurdles, which ranks second best in W&J history.
Making her indoor debut,
Katie Hahn (Volant, Pa./Wilmington) finished 12th in the High Jump with a mark of 1.40 meters.
Men's Recap
Nate Sciarro (Beaver Falls, Pa./Riverside) led the Presidents with a first place finish in the Long Jump. Sciarro continued his stellar season with a leap of 6.76 meters to best the 24-man field.
Declan Fricko (New Bethlehem, Pa./Redbank Valley) was runner-up in the High Jump. Fricko posted a mark of 1.85 meters.
Ian Baughman (Oxford, Pa./Oxford Area) registered a fourth place finish in the 55-Meter Hurdles. Baughman finished with a time of 8.21. He then added a seventh-place performance in the 400 Meters (53.65).
Hayden O'Bryon (Irwin, Pa./Norwin) finished sixth in the Triple Jump with a season-best mark of 12.09 meters.
W&J put three in the Top 10 of the 3000 Meters.
Julian Paul (Pittsburgh, Pa./Montour) was fourth (9:19.83) while
Aden Dressler (Evans City, Pa./Butler) was fifth with a season-best time of 9:25.35 and
Jake Sinclair (Beallsville, Pa./Beth-Center) placed seventh (9:25.35).
Dressler posted a sixth-place finish in the Mile Run, as the junior logged a season-best time of 4:36.31 in the event. That time ranks as the fourth-best in the PAC this season.
Paul Collier (Heath, Ohio/Heath) and
Nick Millison (Salem, Ohio/South Range) gave W&J a pair of Top 10 finishers in the 5000 Meter Run. Collier timed in at 17:00.76 while Millison was clocked in at a season-best time of 17:11.86.
Baughman, Paul,
Brock Pennington (North East, Pa./North East) and Dressler finished third in the 4x400 Relay. The quartet posted a time of 3:41.80.
W&J travels to Mount Union for the Purple Raider Tune-Up on Saturday, Feb. 19.
