MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Sophomore
Claire Anderson (Jamestown, Pa./Jamestown) raced to the title in the 10K to highlight the opening day of the 2024 Presidents' Athletic Conference Track & Field Outdoor Championships. The two-day event is being hosted at Mylan Park in Morgantown, W.Va.
Anderson picked up the PAC title with a time of 37:42.65 in the 10K. Her time ranks as the second fastest in school history.
Grace Reid-Vensel (Washington, Pa. / Lincoln Park Performing Arts Charter) finished third in the 10K with a personal-best time of 39:31.79. That time also ranks as third best in program history in the 10K.
In the field events,
Katie Kovalchick (Shelocta, Pa./Indiana Area) continued to turn heads. The freshman finished second in the Javelin with a personal-best heave of 39.68 meters. Kovalchick's toss currently ranks her 22nd in all of NCAA Division III in the event.
Savannah Sevacko (Crafton, Pa./Carlynton) finished third in the Triple Jump. Sevacko posted a season-best mark of 10.90 meters in the event.
Jadyn Hartner (Washington, Pa./Fort Cherry) raced to a time of 15.24 in the prelims of the 100-Meter Hurdles.
Anna Stroup (Port Royal, Pa./Juniata) logged a time of 15.61 in the 100-Meter Hurdles prelims. Hartner and Stroup posted the second and third best times, respectively, in the prelims. They both have qualified for Friday's finals.
Audrey Chapman () posted a personal-best time of 12.95 in the prelims of the 100 Meters to qualify for Friday's finals in the event.
The W&J women are currently tied for second place with 30 team points through five scored events.
W&J returns to action Friday with 14 more events at the PAC Outdoor Championships. Day two of competition gets underway at 2 p.m.
