WASHINGTON, Pa. -- The Washington & Jefferson College wrestling team registered a 45-12 win over visiting Waynesburg University in a Presidents' Athletic Conference match Thursday evening at Salvitti Family Gymnasium.
W&J claimed wins in eight of the 10 weight classes as the Red and Black claimed the victory on Senior Night.
Highlighting the evening was a victory by sophomore
Trevor Manley (Altoona, Pa./Altoona) at the 285-pound weight class. Manley battled through a competitive first period before taking the win by fall in the second period.
Nico Williams (Cadiz, Ohio Harrison Central) secured a win by decision at 197 pounds. Williams took an early lead with a first period takedown before adding a second period takedown to strengthen his lead. Williams then held on for the victory in the third period.

W&J returns to competition on Saturday when they travel to Cleveland to take part in the Case Western Reserve University Claude Sharer Duals. The Presidents will face Otterbein, Muskingum, Hiram and the host Spartans.
