YORK, Pa. -- The Washington & Jefferson College wrestling team concluded its 2022-23 season Friday by competing at the NCAA Division III Southeast Regional, which was hosted by York College of Pennsylvania. 

The Presidents did not have any wrestlers advance to competition on Saturday.

Hunter Swedish (Cranberry Township, Pa./Seneca Valley) posted a 1-2 record at 133 pounds. His win came by fall against Jaciah Whitcomb of Lycoming to advance to the quarterfinals. Swedish finishes his season at 23-4 overall record.

Bryce Rodriguez-Uram (Carnegie, Pa./Carlynton) also earned an opening-round win to advance to the quarterfinals at 141 pounds. Rodriguez-Uram opened with a win by fall over Christian Michaels of Waynesburg in just 43 seconds. He finished 1-2 after falling in the quarterfinals and in the consolation rounds. He finishes up his freshman season at 16-7. 

Jaizik Sanabria (Solomons, Md. / Paxtuxent) posted a win at 149 pounds. He defeated Hunter Savitz of Penn State Behrend by major decision (14-5). 

Nicholas Montalbano (Washington And Jefferson College) won by fall (1:59) over Mateo Villalobos of Ferrum College at 174 pounds. 

Friday's results conclude the first season for head coach Sonnie Blanco. He helped W&J capture its seventh PAC title earlier this month when they shared the title with Thiel College after a tie.
