WASHINGTON, Pa. -- The Washington & Jefferson College wrestling team competed in the third annual Jim White Duals Saturday afternoon in the Ross Recreation Center. The Presidents fell by a 27-17 score to 21st ranked Lycoming College before dropping a its second match by a 38-9 score to Division II Seton Hill University. 

W&J was led by Taylor Smith (Mifflintown, Pa./Juniata) and Bryce Rodriguez-Uram (Carnegie, Pa./Carlynton). Both Smith and Rodriguez-Uram posted 2-0 records Saturday.

Smith opened his day with a 12-11 victory by decision over Lycoming's Will Kahler at 149 pounds. Smith later recorded a 24-7 victory by technical fall (6:56) over Nolan Daerr of Seton Hill. 

Rodriguez-Uram logged a pair of impressive wins at 157 pounds. The sophomore won by major decision (13-3) over Lycoming's Logan Bartlett. Rodriguez-Uram tacked on a 15-3 win over Braxton Miller of Seton Hill. 

Hunter Swedish (Cranberry Township, Pa./Seneca Valley) earned a 10-2 victory by major decision over Cooper Gilham of Lycoming in his 141-pound bout. Noah Byrum (Laurel, Md. / Reservoir) logged a win for W&J at 184 pounds versus Lycoming. 

W&J travels to Waynesburg University for a conference dual match on Wednesday, Jan. 24. Start time is scheduled for 7 p.m.
