WASHINGTON, Pa. -- The Washington & Jefferson College swimming & diving teams earned a Senior Day sweep over visiting Pitt-Bradford in non-conference action Saturday afternoon at Henry Memorial Natatorium.
The Presidents secured a 125-82 win on the women's side. W&J picked up a 141-125 decision over Pitt-Bradford in the men's portion of the meet.
W&J opened the meet by taking both ends of the 200 Medley Relay.
The quartet of
Daniel Jeffries,
Nathaniel Harden,
Logan Marks and
Aiden Marks timed in at 1:43.02.
The women's group of
Sophia Garrett,
Maddie Malone,
Luna Balzano and
Morgan Baughman finished with a winning time of 2:03.65 in the event.
Amanda Graves shined on Senior Day with a pair of individual victories. Graves won both the 100 Backstroke (1:07.51) and the 200 Backstroke (2:29.54).
Taylor Newton picked up a pair of individual wins. Newton recorded a top time of 2:11.64 in the 200 Free and finished first in 100 Fly at 1:10.10.
Garrett picked up wins in both the 50 Free (26.39) and the 200 IM (2:26.38).
Balzano finished with a time of 2:29.85 in the 200 Fly to take first. Balzano added a second place finish in the 100 Free (1:06.47).
Baughman took first in the 100 Free with a winning time of 1:00.33 in the event.
The men's team picked up eight individual victories. Registering two individual wins were
Logan Marks, who won both the 200 IM (2:04.89) and the 200 Breaststroke (2:08.19).
Aiden Marks secured wins in both the 50 Free (23.24) and the 100 Free (51.75).
Perry Barnhart were first in the 100 Breaststroke with a time of 1:06.47.
Nathaniel Harden secured the top time in the 200 Fly (2:32.65).
W&J closed the meet with wins in the 200 Free Relay. Jeffries,
Aidan Miller,
Aiden Marks and
Logan Marks put together a time of 1:33.44. Balzano, Newton, Garrett and Baughman finished with a time of 1:50.60.
Melvin McRae put together a score of 188.75 in the One-Meter Diving during his first round. McRae then added a score of 167.95 during his second session on the One Meters.
W&J returns to competition at the annual Presidents' Athletic Conference Championships. The event runs from Feb. 14-17 and will be held at Grove City College's James E. Longnecker Competition Pool.
