Kevin Pintar ’93 was a vital anchor on the W&J football offensive line during one of the most successful stretches in program history.
A two-time First Team All-PAC selection, the offensive lineman was honored on the 1992 Champion All-America Team after leading W&J to the NCAA Division III national championship game, the Stagg Bowl. Pintar was a member of four Presidents’ Athletic Conference championship teams and the Presidents qualified for the NCAA Division III playoffs in all four seasons.
He was an Honorable Mention All-PAC choice in 1990 after helping W&J post a 10-1 record which included a 10-7 victory at Ferrum in the NCAA playoffs. The offensive line paved the way for W&J Athletic Hall of Famers Larry Pitts and Chris Babirad and their backfield mates to rush for 2,066 yards and 28 touchdowns in nine regular-season games (229.6 rushing yards per game).
The 6-foot-2, 260-pound workhorse helped W&J win eight times in 1991, nearly matching the previous year’s rushing output with 2,122 yards and 28 touchdowns.
Pintar helped the W&J offense establish the team season rushing record which still stands today 33 years later during the 1992 Stagg Bowl season. The Presidents rushed for 3,519 yards, an average of 270.7 yards per game on the ground.
Overall, Pintar’s teams owned a 37-7 record. The offense scored 30 or more points 27 times in the 1989-1992 stretch.
