Jamie (Gullen) Potter ’07 finished her career with more assists than any volleyball player in W&J history.

The NCAA changed volleyball scoring in 2001 and with 4,640 career assists, Potter has over 1,700 more assists than any President in the rally scoring era. Potter also owns the rally scoring era career service aces record with 135. That total is third in W&J history overall, behind athletic hall of fame inductee Stephanie Crawford ’99 and Guinn Hebrank ’00.

She made an immediate impact as a freshman, dishing out 1,116 assists (10.1 apg) and posted 264 digs and 38 aces. As a sophomore, Potter was a second team All-PAC honoree after producing 842 assists, 365 digs, 155 kills, 60 blocks and 33 aces.

Potter and her teammates turned the corner in the conference in 2005 as the Presidents finished the regular season in second place. W&J knocked off Thomas More 3-0 in the PAC semifinals to reach the conference final for the first time since 1999. Potter dished out 41 assists in the semifinal win and then followed up with 39 assists, nine digs, five kills and two blocks as W&J rolled past two-time defending champion Waynesburg by a 3-1 margin for the program’s sixth PAC championship.
